So, what have I been doing recently?
Well, for starters, I spent the weekend putting this video together.
This is the children's program for the Teaching Parents' Association. It's a weekend-long homemade version of the children's institute (pretty much), the one that Randy, Eunice, Melissa and Shiopei came down to Wichita to work at. I was charged with chasing kids around with a camera and putting it all together into a memorable package for the parents to watch at the end and for the staff to keep.
For those of you who've worked with me in video, here are the nitty-gritty details: I used After-effects Windows Movie Maker on the Alien-baby. Why Windows Movie Maker? Well, after 3 years, I still don't have a decent editing program on my laptop, and I didn't want to head to the university to do my editing. This is the first time I had used WMM, and the last. It'd be great for home use, I'll give it that.
Oh yeah... and something that seems to be a theme in my videos, can you detect where the music was spliced together? I've been told I'm rather skilled at that. Give it a listen. It's spliced twice.

Well, I don't know my Adobe Premiere very well but, I have played with these two programs a little and they can't be much worse than Movie Maker.
Adobe Premiere to Avidemux: (http://avidemux.sourceforge.net/)
Premier is state of the art real-time non-linear video editing for any
format including High Definition (HD). Supports 16-bit color
resolution, GPU accelerated rendering for faster effects and even
advanced DVD authoring. On the other hand, Avidemux
provides Windows, Mac, and Linux users with an easy-to-use open source
tool for DVD/DivX converting and editing. Avidemux also has scripting
support for automation and even offers DVD authoring with the addition
of the open source software, dvdauthor.
Jashaka
The worlds first open source, hardware accelerate editing and effects system! Well worth to check it out.

and last but not least, I found this on Wiki to sink your teeth into.

Give them a shot and if they don't work for you, remind me to bring my Premiere CD back to the states with me.
there.....the event looks like a blast!!
WMM!!!! You should have just done it all in AE. You probably would not have had as many nightmares...lol
